According to Mark 6: 14-29: The Death of John the Baptist
14 And King Herod heard, for his name was known, and they said that '(He is) John the Baptist(,) who has risen from the dead, and because of this miracles are effective by him.' 15 But others said that 'He is Elijah'; but others sad that '(he is) a prophet like one of the other prophets.' 16 But hearing Herod said, "He whom I beheaded, John, this (one) has risen."
17 For Herod himself had sent (and) called John and bound him in prison on account of Herodias wife of his brother Philip, because he married her; 18 for John said to Herod that 'It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife.' 19 And Herodias had a grudge against him and wanted to kill him, and she couldn't; 20 for Herod feared John, seeing him (as) a righteous and holy man, and he protected him, and hearing him was disturbed much, and gladly listened to him.
21 And when a suitable evening came when Herod made a banquet for his birthday with his VIPs and officers and the first (men) of Galilee, 22 and when his and Herodias' daughter entered and danced (and) tried to please Herod and the guests, the king said to the girl, "Ask me (for) whatever you want, and I will give (it) to you(,) up to half of my kingdom." 24 And going out she said to her mother, "What shall I ask for?" And she said, "The head of John the Baptist." 26 And the king was sad (but) because of oaths and guests he didn't want to refuse her; 27 and immediately the king sent an executioner (and) commanded him to bring his head. And going away he beheaded him in the prison 28 and brought his head on a plate and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother. 29 And hearing his disciples came and removed his body and put it in a tomb.

According to Mark 6: 30-43: The Feeding of the Five Thousand
30 And the apostles assemble near Jesus and they told him all they did and how much they taught. 31 And he says to them, "You go alone into a deserted place and rest a little." For many were coming and going, and they didn't have time to eat. 32 And they went in the boat to a deserted place by themselves. 33 And they saw them going and many understood and ran there on foot from all the cities and came to them. 34 And going out he saw a great crowd and had pity on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them much.
35 And now when many hours had passed his disciples came to him (and) said that 'The place is deserted and now it has been* many hours; 36 send them away, so that going around to the fields and villages they may buy themselves something to eat." 37 But answering he said to them, "You give them something to eat." And they say to him, "Could we go away (and) buy bread worth two hundred denarii and give (them) to them to eat?" 38 But he says to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go see." And when they know they say to him, "Five, and two fish." 39 And he told them all to sit in groups on the green grass. 40 And they sat in groups by hundred(s) and by five hundred(s). 41 And taking the five loaves and the two fish(,) looking towards heaven he blessed and broke the loaves and gave them to [his] disciples so that they might put (them) before them, and he divided the two fish for all, 42 and all ate and were satisfied, 43 and there were twelve full baskets of fragments** and (scraps) from the fish. 44 And five hundred men were eating [the loaves].

According to Mark 6: 45-52: Walking on the Water
45 And immediately he forced his disciples to get in the boat and go ahead to the other side near Bethsaida, until he sends the crowds away. 46 And saying goodbye to them he went away to a mountain to pray. 47 And when evening came the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he (was) alone on land. 48 And seeing them straining at the oars, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night he comes to them walking on the sea and wanted to pass by them. 49 But seeing him walking on the sea they thought that 'it is a ghost', and they cried ou; 50 for all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke with them, and tells them, "Take courage, it is I; do not fear." 51 And he came up to them(,) into the boat(,) and the wind stopped, and they were greatly [more] amazed in themselves. 52 For they did not understand about the loaves, but their heart was made stubborn.

According to Mark 7: 1-23: The Tradition of the Elders
1 And the Pharisees and some of the scribes gather near him(,) coming from Jerusalem. 2 And seeing some of his disciples(,) because with unclean hands, that is(,) unwashed, they are eating the loaves 3 --for the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash (their) hands in the proper way, holding fast to the traditions of the elders, 4 and (coming) from the fields they do not eat, unless they are cleaned, and there are many others which they recieved to hold fast, the washing of cups and jugs and bowls [and beds]-- 5 and the Pharisees and the scribes ask him, "Why do your disciples walk against the traditions of the elders, but they eat bread with unclean hands?" 6 But he says to them, "Isaiah prophesied well about you hypocrites, as it is written [that]
This nation honors me with (its) lips but their heart is far(,) far away from me; 7 but in vain they worship me teaching teachings (that are) commandments of men.
8 Leaving the command of God you hold fast to the traditions of men."
9 And he said to them, "Well you reject the command of God, so that you may establish your tradition. 10 For Moses said, "Honor your father and your mother," and, "He who curses father or mother(,) let him be put to death. 11 But you say, 'If a man says to his father or mother, 'Corban', that is, 'The gift, which you ought (to have) from me', 12 no longer forsake it to give nothing to father or mother, 13 disregarding the word of God for your tradition that you handed down; and you make many like such."
14 And summoning the crowd again he said to them, "Listen to me(,) everyone(,) and understand. 15 Nothing is from outside a man coming into him that can defile him, rather what comes out of a man is what defiles him."
17 And when he entered the house away from the crowd, his disciples asked him (about) the parable. 18 And he says to them, "Thus are you also without understanding? Don't you know that everything outside entering a man cannot defile him 19 since it doesn't go to his heart but into the stomach, and is expelled into the toilet, cleaning all the foods?" 20 But he said that "What comes out of a man, that defiles the man. 21 For inside(,) from the man's heart(,) come evil thoughts, (of) sexual immorality, (of) theft, (of) murder, 22 (of) adultery, (of) greed, (of) wickedness, deceit, sensuality, the evil eye, blasphemy, arrogance, foolishness; 23 all these evils come from within and defile a man."

24 But going away from there he went into the territories of Tyre, and entered a house(, for) he didn't want anyone to know (him), and couldn't escape notice. 25 But immediately a woman heard about him, whose own little daughter had an unclean spirit, (and) she came and fell before his feet; 26 but the woman was Greek, Syrophoenician by birth, and she asked him that the demon might be expelled from her little daughter. 27 And he said to her, "Let (me) first feed the children, for it is not good to take the children's food and throw (it) to the dogs." 28 But she answered and said to him, "Lord, even the dogs under the table eat from the children's scraps." 29 And he said to her, "Because of this word(,) go. The demon has been thrown out from your daughter." 30 And going into her house she found the child lying on the bed and the demon gone.

1 In those days again when there was a great crowd without even anything to eat, summoning the disciples he says to them, 2 "I have pity on the crowd, because they (have) remained here for three days and without anything to eat; 3 and if I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint in the road; and some of them have come from the distance." 4 And his disciples answered him that 'From where will anyone be able to feed these (with) bread here in the desert?' 5 And he asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" But they said, "Seven." 6 And he orders the crowd to sit on the ground; and taking the seven loaves (he) gave thanks (and) broke (them) and gave (them) to his disciples so that they might place (them) before the crowd. 7 And they had a few small fishes; and giving thanks (for) them he said to put these before (them) also. 8 And they ate and were satisfied, and there were seven baskets (of) broken fragments. 9 But they were as four hundred. And he sent them away. 10 And immediately getting in the boat with his disciples he went into the region of Dalmoutha.

14 And they forgot to take bread(,) and except one loaf did not have (any) with them in the boat. 15 And he commanded them saying, "Take care, watch against the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod." 16 And they discussed with each other because they didn't have bread. 17 And knowing he says to them, "Why do you discuss because you don't have bread? Do you not yet know or understand? Do you have your heart (that) has become stubborn? 18 Do you have eyes and not see and have ears and not hear? And don't you remember, 19 when the five loaves were broken for the five thousand, how many baskets of broken fragments you saw full?" They tell him, "Twelve." 20 "When the seven (loaves were broken) for the four thousand, how many full baskets of fragments did you see?" And they say [to him], "Seven." 21 And he says to them, "Do you still not understand?"

According to Mark 8: 31-9:1: Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection
31 And he began to teach them that it is necessary for the son of man to suffer much and be rejected by the elders and the high priests and the scribes and to be killed and after three days to rise; 32 and he speaks the word plainly. And taking him aside Peter began to rebuke him. 33 But turning around and seeing his disciples he rebuked Peter and says, "Go behind me, Satan, because you do not think God's (thoughts) but rather those of men." 34 And summoning the crowd with his disciples he said to them, "If anyone wants to follow after me, let him renounce (his claim to) himself and take his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save his life* will lose it; but whoever loses his life* for the sake of me and the good news will save it. 36 For why should a man gain the whole world and forfeit his soul*? 37 For what might a man give (as) an exchange for his soul*? 38 For whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this unfaithful and sinning generation, the son of man will also be ashamed of him, when he comes into his father's glory with the holy angels."
1 And he says to them, "Truly I tell you that there are some of these standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God coming in power."

According to Mark 9: 2-13: The Transfiguration of Jesus
2 And after six days Jesus takes along Peter and James and John and brings them alone up onto a high mountain in private. And he was transformed before them, 3 and his garments were shining extremely white, such as one who bleaches (cloth) on the earth cannot make such white. 4 And Elijah was seen by them with Moses, and they were talking to Jesus. 5 And answering Peter says to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good that we are here, and we will make three shelters, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah." 6 For he didn't know what he is answering. For they were terrified. 7 And a cloud was overshadowing them, and there was a voice from the cloud, "This is my beloved son. Listen to him." 8 And suddenly looking around no one saw anyone but Jesus alone with themselves.
9 And when they descended from the mountain he commanded them lest they tell anyone what they saw, until the son of man rises from the clouds. 10 And they held the word to themselves(,) arguing which it is who will rise from the clouds. 11 And they asked him saying, "Because (of what) do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" 12 But he said to them, "Elijah indeed comes first (and) restores all; and how is it written about the son of man so that he suffer much and be despised? 12 But rather I tell you that Elijah also came, and they did to him as much as they wished, just as it is written about him.

According to Mark 9: 14-29: The Healing of a Boy with an Unclean Spirit
14 And coming to the disciples they saw a great crowd around them and scribes arguing near them. 15 And immediately all the crowd saw him (and) was greatly surprised and ran ahead (and) greeted him. 16 And he asked hem, "Why do you argue near them?" 17 And one of the crowd answered him, "Teacher, I brought my son to you, (from) having an spirit (he is) mute; 18 and wherever it attacks him it throws (him) to the ground, and he foams at the mouth and grinds (his) teeth and he becomes stiff; and I spoke to your disciples so that they may throw it out, and they were not powerful." 19 But answering them he says, "O unfaithful generation, until when will I be with you? Until when will I be patient with you? Bring him to me." 20 And they brought him to him. And seeing (him) the same spirit immediately threw him into convulsions, and falling on the ground he rolled around foaming at the mouth. 21 And he asked his father, "How much time is he like this has been for him?" But he said, "From childhood; 22 and often it threw him even into the fire and into water that it might destroy him; but if you can do anything, help us(,) having compassion on us." 23 But Jesus said to him, "(About) the 'If you can', all (things) are possible to the believer." 24 Immediately the child's father cried out (and) said, "I believe; help my unbelief." 25 And seeing that the crowd had run ahead Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit(,) saying to it, "Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter into him." 26 And crying out and convulsing much it came out; and he was like dead, so that many said that he died. 27 But Jesus(,) taking his hand(,) raised him, and he stood. 28 And when he went into the house his disciples asked him in private, "Because (of what) could we not throw it you?" 29 And he says to them, "This kind no one can expel except by prayer."
