According to Luke 4: 1-13: The Temptation of Jesus
1 And Jesus(,) full of the holy spirit(,) returned from the Jordan and was led by the spirit into the desert 2 for forty days being tempted by the devil. And he did not eat anything in those days and when they were completed he was hungry.
3 But the devil said to him, "If you are the son of God, speak to this stone so that it may become bread." 4 And Jesus answered him, "It is written that, 'Men will not live on bread alone.' "
5 And leading him up he showed him all the kingdoms of the inhabited earth in an instant of time 6 and the devil said to him, "To you I will give all this power and their glory, because it has been handed over to me and to whoever I wish to give it: 7 therefore you(,) if you bow before me, all will be yours." 8 And answering Jesus said to him, "It is written, You will worship the lord your God and serve him alone."
9 But he led him into Jerusalem and stood on the highest point of the temple and said to him, "If you are God's son, throw yourself down from here: 10 for it is written that He will command his angels concerning you to protect you, 11 and that, He will lift you by (his) hands lest you strike your foot against a stone." 12 And answering Jesus said to that 'It is said, "You will not put the lord your God to the test." '
13 And finishing all temptation the devil went away from him until the appointed time.

According to Luke 4: 16-30: The Rejection of Jesus at Nazareth
16 And he went into Nazareth where* he was brought up and entered the synagogue on the day of the sabbath according to his custom and stood up to read. 17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was given to him(,) and unrolling the book he found the place where* it is written,
18 The spirit of the lord (is) on me by which he consecrated me to preach the good news to the poor, he has sent me, to preach forgiveness to prisoners and sight to the blind to send the shattered away in forgiveness, 19 to preach the favorable year of the lord. 20 And rolling up the book (and) returning (it) to the attendant he sat down: and the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed attentively on him. 21 And he began to say to them that 'Today this writing is fulfilled in your ears.'
22 And all witnessed him and were amazed at the words of grace coming out of his mouth and said, "Isn't this the son of Joseph?" 23 And he said to them, "Certainly you will tell me this parable: Doctor, heal yourself': we have heard what great happenings you made in Capernaum and here in your homeland." 24 But he said, "Truly I tell you that no prophet is accepted in his homeland. 25 And in truth I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when heaven was closed three years and six months, as it was a great famine on all the earth, 26 and to none of theirs was Elijah sent but to Sarepta of Sidon to a widow woman. 27 And there were many lepers in Israel with Elishah the prophet, and no one of them was cleansed except Naiman the Syrian." 28 And all in the synagogue hearing these (things) were filled with rage. 29 And getting up they threw him out of the city and led him to the brow of a hill on which their city was built so that they might throw him down: 30 but he passed through their midst (and) went away.

According to Luke 4: 31-37: The Man with an Unclean Spirit
31 And he arrived in Capernaum(,) a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the sabbath: 32 and they were amazed at his teaching, because his word was in authority. 33 And in the synagogue was a man with* the spirit of an unclean demon and he shouted with a great voice, 34 "Aah(!), what do you want with us**, Jesus the Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us?" I know you(,) who you are(,) the holy one of God. 35 And Jesus rebuked him saying, "Be silent and go out of him." And throwing him down the demon went out of (their) midst from him(,) not hurting him. 36 And wonder was on everyone and they conferred with one another saying, "What (is) this word that commands unclean spirits in authority and power and they leave?" 37 And a rumor about him went out into all the place(s) of the surrounding region.

38 And departing from the synagogue he went into Simon's house. And Simon's mother-in-law was suffering with a great fever and they asked him about her. 39 And putting (himself) over her he rebuked the fever and it let her go: and getting up immediately she served them.
40 But when the sun set everyone(,) as many as had sicknesses (and) diseases of all kinds, led them to him: and taking their hands he healed them. 41 And he also threw out demons from many(, who were) [calling out and] shouting and saying that 'You are the son of God.' And rebuking (them) he did not let them speak because they knew he was the Christ.

According to Luke 5: 1-11: The Calling of the First Disciples
1 And it happened that the crowd pressed against him also to hear the word of God and he was standing beside the lake of Gennesaret. 2 And he saw two boats standing beside the lake: and getting out of them the fishermen washed the nets. 3 But getting in one of them, which was Simon's, he asked him to put out from the land a little, and sitting he taught the crowds from out of the boat. 4 But as he stopped speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deeps and let your nets down for a catch." 5 And answering Simon said, "Master, through the whole night we worked (and) took nothing: but on your word I will let down my nets. 6 And doing this he imprisoned a great multitude of fish, and ripped his nets. 7 And he motioned to the partners in the other boat to come (and) catch them: and they came and filled both boats so as to sink them. 8 But seeing (this) Simon Peter fell on his knees (before) Jesus saying, "Go away from me, because I am a sinning man*, lord." 9 For wonder had seized him and all those with him at the catch of fish which they caught. 10 And likewise also James and John the sons of Zebedee, who were working with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not fear: from now on you will be a man-catcher." 11 And bringing the boats on land everyone left (and) followed him.

According to Luke 5: 17-26: The Healing of a Paralytic
17 And it happened in one of the days(,) and he was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting (there) who had come from each region of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem: and the power of the lord was (ready) to cure him. 18 And behold(,) men carrying a man who was paralyzed on a couch and they sought to bring him in and put [him] before him. 19 And not finding how they might bring him in through the crowd, going up onto the roof they lowered him through the roof tiles with the mat into the middle in front of Jesus. 20 And seeing their faith he said, "Man, your sins are forgiven you." 21 And the scribes and Pharisees began to argue saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?" 22 But perceiving their arguments Jesus said to them, "Why do you argue in your hearts? 23 What is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk?' 24 But so that you may see that the son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins--" he said to the paralyzed (man), "I tell you, get up and taking your mat go into your house." 25 And at once standing before them, taking what he had lain upon, he went away into his house praising God. 26 And amazement seized all and they praised God and were filled with fear(,) saying that 'We saw incredible (things) today.'
