John 1 1: 1-4: The Word of Life
1 What was there from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen and our hands have touched, concerning the word of life—2 and the word was revealed, and we have seen and witnessed and announce to you the eternal life that was with the father and was revealed to us—3 what we have seen and heard, we also announce to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us. And also our fellowship is with the father and with his son Jesus Christ. 4 And we write these things, so that your joy may overflow.

John 1 1: 5-10: God is Light
5 And this is the announcement that we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light and there is no darkness in him.
6 If we said that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we are lying and not doing the truth: 7 and if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with each other and the blood of his son Jesus cleans us from all sin. 8 If we said that we don't have sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, so that he will forgive us the sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we said that we have not sinned, we make him a lie and his word isn't in us.

John 1 2: 1-6: Christ Our Advocate
1 My children, I write you these things so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have a counselor with the father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 and he is the atonement for our sins, not for ours alone but also for the whole world.
3 And in him we know that we knew him, if we keep his commands. 4 He who says that 'I know him' and doesn't keep his command, he is a liar and the truth isn't in him: 5 and whoever keeps his word, truly in him the love of God has been perfected, in him we know that we are in him. 6 He who says in himself should remain just as that one walked, he also walks [thus].

John 1 2: 7-17: The New Commandment
7 Beloved, I’m not writing you a new command but rather an old command that you’ve had from the beginning: the old command is the word that you heard. 8 Again I write you a new command, which is true in him and in you, that the darkness is passing and the true light now shines. 9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness until now. 10 He who loves his brother remains in the light and no cause for sin is in him: 11 but he who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness and doesn’t know where he’s going because the darkness blinds his eyes.
12 I write to you, children because your sins are forgiven through his name. 13 I write to you fathers because you have known him from the beginning. I write to you, young ones, because you have defeated the evil one. 14 I wrote to you, children, because you have known the father. I wrote to you, fathers, because you have known him from the beginning. I wrote to you, young ones, because you are powerful and the word of God remains in you and you have defeated the evil one.
15 Don’t love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father isn’t in him. 16 For each that is in the world, the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the pride of life, is not from the father but is from the world. 17 And the world and its desire is passing away, but he who does God's will remains forever.

John 1 2: 18-27: The Antichrist
18 Children, it is the last hour, and just as you heard that an antichrist will come, and now there are many antichrists, from which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They came from among you but weren’t from you: for if they were from you, they would have remained with you: but rather this is to show that not all are from you. 20 And you have gifts from the holy one and you all know. 21 I didn’t write you that you don’t know the truth but rather that you know it and that each liar is not from the truth.
22 Who is the liar if not he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This one is the antichrist, the denier of the father and the son. 23 Each who denies the son doesn’t have the father, he who confesses the son also has the father. 24 What you heard from the beginning, it should remain in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you will also remain in the son and in the father. 25 And this is the announcement which he announced to you, the eternal life. 26 I wrote you these things about those who are deceiving you. 27 And the gift which you received from him, it remains in you and you have no need for anyone to teach you, but rather as his gift teaches you about everything and is truthful and is not a liar, just as it also taught you, remain in it.

John 1 2: 28-3: 10: Children of God
28 And now, children, remain in him, so that if he appears we will have openness and not be ashamed of him, in his appearance. 29 If you saw that he is righteous, know that also each who does righteousness is born from him. 1 See what love the father has given us, that we may be called God’s children, and we are. Therefore the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
2 Beloved, now we are God’s children, and when he appears we will be that. We know that if he appears, we will be like him, because we will see him as he is. 3 And each who has this hope in him sanctifies himself, just as that one is holy.
4 Each who does sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And know that he appeared to take sins, and sin is not in him. 6 Each who remains in him doesn’t sin: each who sins hasn’t seen him or known him.
7 Children, no one should deceive you: he who does righteousness is righteous, just as that one is righteous: 8 he who does sin is from the devil, because from the beginning the devil sins. In this the child of God is shown, that he destroys the deeds of the devil.
9 Each who is born from God doesn’t do sin, because his nature remains in him, and he can’t sin, because he is born from God. 10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are shown: each who doesn’t do righteousness isn’t from God, and each who doesn’t love his brother.

John 1 3: 19-24: Confidence before God
19 [And] in this we know that we are from the truth, and before him we reassure our heart, 20 that if our heart knows him, because God is greater than our heart and knows everything.
21 Beloved, if [our] heard doesn’t know, we have openness with God 22 and if we ask we will receive that from him, because we keep his commands and do things that please him before him. 23 And this is his command, that we believe the name of his son Jesus Christ and love each other, just as he gave us the command. 24 And he who keeps his commands remains in him and he in him: and in this we know that he remains in us, from the spirit that he gave us.

John 1 4: 1-6: The Spirit of God and the Spirit of Antichrist
1 Beloved, don’t believe all spirits but rather test the spirits to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 In this you know the spirit of God: each spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and each spirit that doesn’t confess Jesus is not from God: and this is that of the antichrist, whom you heard is coming, and is now already in the world. 4 You are from God, children, and have defeated them, because the one in you is greater than the one in the world. 5 They are from the world, therefore they speak from the world and the world hears them. 6 We are from God, he who knows God hears us, he who is not from God doesn’t hear us. From this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of lying.

John 1 4: 7-21: God is Love
7 Beloved, we must love each other, because love is from God, and each who loves is born from God and knows God. 8 He who doesn’t love didn’t know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God is shown in us, that God sent his only-born son into the world so that we might live through him. 10 Love is in this, not because we have loved God but because he loved us and sent his son as a sacrifice for your sins.
11 Beloved, if God loved us so, we should also love each other. 12 No one ever sees God. If we love each other, God remains in us and his love is perfected in us. 13 In this we have known that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given to us from his spirit. 14 And we saw and bear witness that the father sent his son as the savior of the world. 15 If someone confesses that Jesus is God’s son, God remains in him and he in God. 16 And we have known and trusted the love that God has in us.
God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God and God remains in him. 17 In this the love is completed with us, that we may have openness on the day of judgment, because just as he is we will also be in this world. 18 Fear is not in love, but rather the perfected love throws fear out, because fear has punishment, and he who fears isn’t perfected in love. 19 We love, because he loved us first. 20 If anyone says that ‘I love God’ and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he’s seen, cannot love the God whom he hasn’t seen. 21 And we have this command from him, that he who loves God may also love his brother.

John 1 5: 1-5: Faith is Victory over the World
1 Each who believes that Jesus is the Christ, is born from God, and each who loves the one born [also] loves the one born from him. 2 In this we have known that we love God’s children, when we love God and do his commands. 3 For this is God’s love, that we keep his commands, and his commands are not burdens. 4 Because each who is born from God defeats the world; and this is the defeat that defeats the world, our trust. 5 [And] who is the one who defeats the world except he who believes that Jesus is God’s son?

John 1 5: 6-12: The Witness concerning the Son
6 This is the one who comes through water and blood, Jesus Christ, not only in the water but rather in the water and in the blood: and the spirit is the witness, because the spirit is the truth. 7 For the witnesses are three, 8 the spirit and the water and the blood, and the three are in one. 9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater: because this is the testimony of God that he has borne about his son. 10 He who believes in God’s son has the testimony in himself, he who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he hasn’t believed in the testimony that God has borne about his son. 11 And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his son. 12 He who has the son has the life: he who doesn’t have God’s son doesn’t have the life.

John 1 5: 13-21: The Knowledge of Eternal Life
13 I have written you these things so that you may see that you have eternal life, to those who trust in the name of God’s son. 14 And this is the openness that we have with him that if we ask anything according to his will he will hear us. 15 And if we know that he hears us whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not to death, he will ask and give him life, to those who sin not to death. Sin is to death: not about that do I tell him to ask. 17 All unrighteousness is sin, and it is sin not to death.
18 We know that each who is born from God doesn’t sin, but rather he who has been born from God keeps him and the evil one doesn’t touch him. 19 We know that we are from God and the whole world will be burned in the evil one. 20 And we know that God's son is present and has given us service so that we might know the true one, and we are in the true one, in his son Yeshua the Messiah. This is the true God and eternal life.
21 Children, guard yourselves from idols.
