Of Peter B 1: 1-2: Salutation
1 Simon Peter, slave and emissary of Yeshua the Messiah, to those as valuable as us, who received trust in righteousness from our God and savior Yeshua the Messiah, 2 grace to you and may peace abound in the knowledge of our God and our lord Yeshua.

Of Peter B 1: 3-15: The Christian’s Call and Election
3 As everything of his godly power is given to us and leads to life and godliness through the knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and excellence, 4 through which he gave us valuable and superlatively great promises, so that through these you might be sharers of the divine nature, fleeing the decay in the world in desire. 5 And this itself in all haste, do your best to add moral excellence to your trust, and knowledge to your moral excellence, 6 and self-control to knowledge, and obedience to self-control, and godliness to obedience, 7 and brotherly love to godliness, and love to brotherly love. 8 For you have these things and they are increasing, not idle or barren, they accompany the knowledge of our lord Yeshua the Messiah: 9 for to him these things are not present, the blind is seeing dimly, receiving the forgetfulness of the long-past cleansing of his sins. 10 Therefore all the more, brothers, do your best to make your calling and election sure: for doing these things you will certainly never ever fall. 11 For thus the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our lord and savior Yeshua the Messiah will be richly supplied to you.
12 Therefore I will always remind you of these things, although they are seen and confirmed by the truth that is present. 13 And I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to wake you up with a reminder, 14 seeing that my putting aside my tent* is soon, just as the lord Yeshua the Messiah also showed me. 15 And I also do my best at all times to have you make a record of these things after my exodus.

Of Peter B 1: 16-21: Christ’s Glory and the Prophetic Word
16 For we don’t follow cleverly devised myths, but make known to you the power and coming of our lord Yeshua the Messiah, but there are witnesses of his greatness. 17 For he received honor and glory when such a voice came to him with magnificent glory, “This is my beloved son in whom I have delighted,” 18 and we heard this voice coming from heaven, being with him on the holy mountain. 19 And we hold the prophetic word firm, which you do well to hold as a shining light in a dark place, until the day when he will shine through and the morning star will rise in your hearts, 20 knowing this first, that each prophecy is not interpreted by its own writing: 21 for no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but rather men spoke hearing the holy spirit from God.

Of Peter B 2: 1-22: False Prophets and Teachers
1 And pseudoprophets also were in the nation, just as among you there will be pseudoteachers, who will bring in destructive heresies and deny the master who bought them. They bring swift destruction on themselves, 2 and many will follow their indecencies, through which the true way will be blasphemed, 3 and with avarice, with shaped words, they will make profit of you, long ago judgment for them was not idle, and their destruction is not sleeping.
4 For if God, when angels sinned, didn’t spare them but handed them over, putting them in the nether darkness with ropes, to be kept for judgment, 5 and in the beginning of the world didn’t spare anyone but eight people and Noah, a herald of righteousness, who watched the cataclysm brought on an impious world, 6 and reduced the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes [with a catastrophe], he has put down his sentence on the mark of future impieties, 7 and he rescued the righteous Lot, who was mistreated by the lawless ones with vicious behavior: 8 for with a glance and a rumor he settled among them, day after day his righteous soul was tormented by their lawless acts: 9 the lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and how to keep the unrighteous to be punished on the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who go after fleshly corruption with desire and despise lordship.
Bold and self-willed, blaspheming, they do not tremble before glory, 11 where angels with might and power, being greater, do not bring an impious judgment against them before the lord. 12 And these are like wild animals naturally born for ruin and destruction in which they don’t know, they blaspheme their own destruction and are destroyed 13 being unrighteous, (they receive) the reward for unrighteousness, thinking debauchery by day pleasurable, those spots and disgraces take pleasure in their treacheries, carousing with you, 14 eyes full of adultery which cannot stop sinning, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, children of a curse: 15 leaving behind the straight way they are deceived, following the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the reward of unrighteousness 16 and he had a reproof of his own transgression: a dumb donkey speaking in a human voice stopped the prophet’s insanity.
17 These people are waterless fountains, mists blown by storms, whom the gloom of darkness has kept. 18 For they are swollen with emptiness, speaking to catch the few who flee in fleshly desires and vices, returning them to deception, 19 preaching freedom to them, they are slaves of destruction: for what is defeated by this is enslaved. 20 For if they flee the defilements of the world in the knowledge of [our] lord Yeshua the Messiah, then again they are defeated, being woven in, it has happened to them that the last things are worse than the first. 21 For it was better for them not to recognize the way of righteousness than to recognize it and turn from their betrayal of the holy commandment. 22 For the true proverb happened to them,
A dog returning to its own vomit,
and,
A washed pig (goes back) to wallow in the mud.

Of Peter B 3: 1-18: The Promise of the Lord’s Coming
1 Now, beloved, I write this second letter to you in which I arouse you with a reminder of pure thought 2 to remind you of the things spoken before by the holy prophets and the command of your emissaries given by the lord and savior. 3 Know this first, that he will come in the end of days. Mockers will come with mockery according to their own desire 4 and say, “Where is the promise of his coming?” For before it the fathers fell asleep, so everything stays the same from the beginning of creation. 5 For it is hidden from those who desire this that long ago the heavens and the earth were placed from water and by water by the word of God, 6 through which the world will then be shaken by water and destroyed: 7 and now the heavens and the earth are stored up by that very word, being guarded by fire for the day of judgment and destruction of godless men.
8 And don’t let this one thing be unknown to you, beloved, for one day for the lord is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day. 9 The lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some think of slowness, but he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but all to enter into repentance.
10 And the day of the lord will come like a thief, on which (day) the heavens will open loudly and the elements* will be burned and dissolved and the earth and the deeds in it will be found out. 11 Thus when all these things are dissolved [you] must be remarkable in holy conduct and godliness, 12 awaiting and hastening God’s day on which the heavens will be fired and dissolved and the elements will be burned and melted. 13 And we await new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness will live, according to his promise.
14 Therefore, beloved, as you await these things do your best to be found spotless and blameless in peace 15 consider our lord’s patience as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you about the wisdom given by him, 16 as also in all his letters, he speaks in them about these things, in which there are some things hard to understand, which the unlearned and unstable twist, along with the other scriptures, to their own destruction.
17 Therefore you, beloved, know what is ahead and keep watch, lest you be led away and fall out of your own stability by the deception of the corrupt, 18 and increase in grace and knowledge of our lord and savior Yeshua the Messiah. To him be the glory both now and on the day of eternity. [Amen.]
