To Timothy 1 1: 3-11: Warning Against False Doctrine
3 Just as I asked you to remain in Ephesus (as I am) going to Macedonia, so that you might command some not to teach different doctrine 4 nor to pay attention to myths and endless geneologies, (those) who seek diligently (to) pay attention to more than the management of God that (is) in faith. 5 But the goal of the command love from clean hearts and conscience of good and faith of sincerity, 6 of which some missed the mark (and) strayed into empty talk 7 wishing to be teachers of the law, not understanding they do not say about whom they speak confidently.
8 But we know that the law (is) good, if anyone uses it lawfully for him, 9 knowing this, that law is not for the righteous but for the wicked and disobedient, the godless and sinners, the impious and irreligious, patricides and matricides, murderers(,) 10 those who are sexually immoral(,) male perverts(,) kidnappers(,) liars(,) oathbreakers, and if any other opposes sound teaching 11 against the good news of the glory of the blessed God, whom I have believed.

To Timothy 1 1: 12-20: Thankfulness for Mercy
12 I have grace by the one who makes me strong(,) Christ Jesus our lord, because he led being put into servitude 13 the earlier (me) being a blasphemer and a persecutor and an impious (man), but I was shown mercy, because being ignorant I did (it) in disbelief; 14 but the grace of our lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love of Christ Jesus. 15 The word (is) faithful and of all holy acceptance, becuase Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first. 16 But through this I was shown mercy, that in me first Christ Jesus showed all patience with the outline of intending to believe in him into eternal life. 17 And to the king of the ages, to the immortal invisible one God, honor and glory into the ages of ages, so be it.
18 This command I place before you, child Timothy, according to the former (commandments) prophesied to you, that you fight in them the good fight 19 having faith and good conscience, which some pushed aside regarding faith (and) were shipwrecked. 20 Of whom is Hymen and Alexander, whom he gave to Satan so that they might be disciplined not to blaspheme.

To Timothy 1 2: 1-3: 1a: Instructions concerning Prayer
1 Therefore I urge you first of all to make entreaties(,) prayers(,) conversations(,) thanksgivings for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in a position of authority, that we might lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and solemnity. 3 This (is) good and pleasing before our savior God, 4 who wants to save all men and lead (them) into knowledge of truth. 5 For God (is) one, and (there is) one mediator of God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself (as) a ransom for all, the testimony to their own proper times. 7 For him who put (down his life) I (am) a preacher and apostle, I speak the truth(,) I do not lie, a teacher of the nations in faith and truth.
8 Therefore I intend to pray (for) men in each place lifting up holy hands without anger and argument. 9 Likewise [also] women (should be) in a respectable lifestyle with modesty and sound judgement to adorn themselves, not in elaborate hairstyle and gold or pearls or expensive clothing, 10 but what is suitable for women (is) promising godliness through good works. 11 A woman must learn in silence in all obedience; 12 But a man must not permit a woman to teach nor to have authority, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not decieved, but the woman(,) being decieved in (her) deviation(,) was: 15 but she will be saved through bearing children, if they remain in faith and love and holiness with solemnity: 1 the word (is) faithful.

To Timothy 1 3: 1b-7: Qualifications of Bishops
1 If anyone reaches out (for) the office of overseer he desires a good work. 2 Therefore the official must be above reproach, a man of one wife, temperate(,) solemn(,) well behaved(,) hospitable(,) able to teach, 3 not a drunk and not quick-tempered, but considerate(,) peaceable(,) not greedy for money, 4 having authority well over his own house, having children in obedience, with all respectability (5 but if someone does not know (how) to have authority over his own house, how will he take care of God's church?), 6 not recently converted, lest being swollen with pride he fall into judgement of the devil. 7 And he must also have good testimony from outside, lest he fall into reproach and snares of the devil.

To Timothy 1 3: 8-13: Qualifications of Deacons
8 Deacons* likewise (should be) honorable, not insincere, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for material gain, 9 having the mystery of faith in clean conscience. 10 But also these will be tested first, whether they serve being beyond reproach. 11 Women likewise (should be) honorable, not given to malicious gossip, temperate, faithful in everything. 12 Deacons will be men of one wife, managing (their) children and their own houses well. 13 For those who serve well preserve a good standing(,) obtaining also much boldness in faith in Christ Jesus.
*This word also means 'servant'

To Timothy 1 3: 14-16: The Mystery of Our Religion
14 I write these (things) to you hoping to come to you soon*. 15 But (they are) in case** I am delayed, so that you may see how it is necessary to conduct oneself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and support of truth. 16 And undeniably great is the mystery of godliness:
who was revealed in flesh declared righteous in spirit seen by angels was preached in the nations was believed in the world taken away in glory.
*Literally 'in quickness' **Literally 'if'

To Timothy 1 4: 1-5: Prediction of Apostasy
1 But the spirit specifically says that in future times some will depart faith(,) giving themselves to deceptive spirits and teachings of demons, 2 living a lie in hypocrisy, burning their own conscience to numbness, 3 hindering marriage, to avoid eating, which God made for receiving with joy for the faithful and (those) knowing the truth. 4 For all God's creation (is) good and no one rejected receives with joy: 5 for it is holy through the word of God and prayer.

To Timothy 1 4:6-16: A Good Minister of Christ Jesus
6 Teaching these (things) to the brothers you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus regarding the words of faith and the good teachings which you follow closely; 7 but request the godless and old-wives'-tale myths. And train yourself for the sake of godliness: 8 for physical training is useful for a few, but godliness is useful for all who have the promise of life now and coming. 9 The word (is) faithful and holy(,) of all acceptance: 10 for this we labor and struggel, because we have hoped in the living God, who is savior of all men(,) especially the faithful.
11 Proclaim these (things) and teach. 12 Let no one despise you (as) a youth, but be an example of the faithful in the word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 13 Until I come pay close attention to reading, encouragement, teaching. 14 Do not neglect the gift in you, which was given to you through the preaching of God's message with the laying on of the hands of the elders. 15 Care for these (things), to know in these, so that your progress may be apparent to all. 16 Give close attention also to the teaching, persists in them: for doing these also you save yourself and your hearers.

To Timothy 1 5: 1-6: 2a: Duties toward Others
1 Do not rebuke an elder but beg him as a father, a young man as a brother, 2 elder ladies as mothers, young women as sisters in all purity.
3 Honor widows (who are) really widows. 4 But if any widow has the children or grandchildren, first let them carry out the religious duties in their own house(,) and repaying give back to the parents; for this is pleasing before God. 5 But also a true widow having been left alone hopes in God and remains (in) entreaties and prayers night and day, 6 but the luxurious life has died. 7 And proclaim these (things), so that those above reproach may hear. 8 But if anyone of her own dwellings also especially does not take care of (her), he has denied the faith and is of worse unfaith. 9 Put a widow on the list (for church aid if she is) not less than sixty years (and) has been a woman of one husband, 10 well witnessed in good works, if she brought up children, if she entertained strangers, if she washed the feet of the holy, if experiencing trouble she warded it off, if she followed after each good work. 11 But do not include young women (as) widows: for when they are drawn away from Christ by sensuous impulses, they wish to marry 12 having judgement that they rejected the first faith; 13 but at the same time also idle (women) learn to go around their houses(,) but (they are) not only lazy but gossipy and busybodies, speaking what they ought not. 14 Therefore I want to marry young women, to have children, to run a household, to give no opportunity of cursing grace to the opponent; 15 for now some have wandered after Satan. 16 If any faithful has widows, let him support them and let the church not be burdened, so that it may support the real widows.
17 The elders who well stand ahead(,) of double honor(,) let them be worthy, not especially those who grow tired in word and teaching. 18 For the scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox threshing (grain)," and, "The worker is worthy of his wages."19 Do not acknowledge an accusation against an elder, unless on the witness of two or three. 20 Expose sinners above all, so that also those remaining may have fear.
21 I declare solemnly before God and Christ Jesus and the chosen angels, so that you may guard these (things) without prejudice, no one doing (anything) according to favoritism.
22 Lay hands quickly on no one nor have sins in common with others; guard purity for yourself.
23 No longer drink water but use a little wine for the stomach and your weakness frequently.
24 The sins of some men are very obvious to go before (them) into judgment, but they also accompany some: 25 likewise also very obvious good works, and deeds that are different cannot be hidden.
1 How many are slaves under the yoke, let them go before their own deserving masters in all honor, lest the name of God and the teaching be blasphemed. 2 But those having faithful masters must not despise them, because they are brothers, but let them serve more, because they are faithful and loving(,) recieving benefit instead.

To Timothy 6: 2b-10: False Teaching and True Wealth
Teach these (things) and proclaim (them). 3 If anyone teaches differently and does not agree with the sound words of our lord Jesus Christ and teaching according to godliness, 4 he has been puffed up(,) believing no one but having an unhealthy desire for debates and quarrels about words, of which comes envy(,) strife(,) blasphemies, evil suspicions, inconstant arguings, when men have destroyed discernment and turned away from truth, supposing gain to be godliness. 6 But great gain is godliness with independence: 7 for we brought nothing into the world, since nor are we able to bring anything out, 8 but having food and clothing, we are satisfied with these. 9 But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and traps and many foolish and harmful desires, which drag men down into destruction and utter ruin. 10 For the root of all evils is love of money, for which some(,) longing(,) have wandered from the faith and gotten themselves entangled in many pains.

To Timothy 1 6: 11-21: The Good Fight of Faith
11 But you, man of God, flee these (things): and strive to righteousness(,) godliness(,) faith, love(,) patient endurance(,) gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, seize eternal life, into which you have been called and confess the good confession before many witnesses. 13 I declare [to you] before God the giver of all life and Christ Jesus who testified the good confession to Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep the pure commandment above reproach until the appearance of out lord Jesus Christ, 15 which he will show (in) its own seasons(,) the blessed and only powerful (one), the king of kings and lord of lords, 16 the only (one) having immortality, the unapproachable light of the houses, whom no one of men saw nor can see: to whom (be) honor and power forever, amen.
17 To the rich in the present age command not to be proud nor to hope in the uncertainty of wealth but in God who grants all richly to us for enjoyment. 18 To do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, to be liberal (with money), 19 to acquire a good foundation for themselves for the future, so that they may take hold of true life.
20 O Timothy, guard what is entrusted to your care(,) shunning vile foolish talk and the opposition of false knowledge, 21 which some proclaim through mistaken faith.
Grace (be) with you.
