According to John 1: 1-18: The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. 2 This (one) was in the beginning with God. 3 Everything happened through him, and without him not one (thing) happened. What has happened 4 in him was life, and the life is the light of men: 5 and the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not grasped it.
6 There was a man, sent from God, his name* (was) John: 7 this (one) came for a witness so that he might witness about the light, so that all might believe through him. 8 That (one) was not the light, but rather (came) so that he might witness about the light.
9 The true light, which illuminates all mankind, was coming into the world**. 10 He was in the world, and the world came about through him, and the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and this own did not accept him. 12 And as many as received him, he gave them authority to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, 13 those not from blood nor from the desire of the flesh nor from the desire of man but rather were born from God.
14 And the word became flesh and resided in us, and we saw his glory, glory as the only-born from the father, full of grace and truth. 15 John witnesses about him and cried out saying, "This was whom I said, 'The one coming after me has been before me, for he was earlier than me.; " 16 Because from the fulness of him we all received and grace in place of grace: 17 for the law was given through Moses, grace and truth come through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God yet: the only-born God who is in the lap of the father(,) that (one) expounded (this to us).
*Literally 'the name to him' **I moved the verb 'was' from the first clause of this verse to the third.

According to John 1: 19-28: The Testimony of John the Baptist
19 And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent [to him] priests and Levites from Jerusalem so that they might question him, "Who are you?" 20 And he confessed and did not deny, and confessed that 'I am not the Christ.' 21 And they asked him, "Therefore who? Are you Elijah?" And he says, "I am not." "Are you the prophet?" And he answered, "No." 22 Therefore they said to him, "Who are you? So that we may give an answer to those who sent us: what do you say about yourself?" 23 He said,
"I (am) a voice calling in the wilderness, Prepare the lord's way,
just as Isaiah the prophet said."
24 And some of the Pharisees were sent. 25 And they asked him and said to him, "Therefore why do you baptize if you are not the Christ nor Elijah nor the prophet?" 26 John answered them saying, "I baptize in water: among you stands one whom you do not know, 27 the one coming after me, of whom [I am not worthy to loose the straps of his sandals."
28 These (things) happened in Bethania by the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

According to John 1: 29-34: The Lamb of God
29 The next day he sees Jews coming to him and says, "Behold the lamb of God who takes up the sin of the world. 30 This is he of whom I said, 'After me comes a man who has been before me, because he was earlier than me.' 31 And I did not know him, but rather so that he might be shown to Israel through this I came baptizing in water."
32 And John witnessed saying that 'I saw the spirit descending like a dove from heaven and it stayed on him. 33 And I did not know him, but rather he who sent me to baptize in water(,) that (one) said to me, "On whoever you see the spirit descend and remain on him, this is the (one) baptizing in the holy spirit." 34 And I saw and bore testimony that this is the son of God.'

According to John 1: 35-42: The First Disciples
35 The next day John stood (there) again and two of his disciples 36 and seeing Jesus walking he says, "Behold the lamb of God." 37 And the two disciples heard while he was speaking and followed Jesus. 38 And Jesus turned and saw them following (and) said to them, "What are you looking for?" And they said to him, "Rabbi," which is said(,) being translated(,) Teacher, "where are you staying?" 39 He says to them, "Come and see." So they went and saw where he stays and stayed with him that day: it was about the tenth hour.
40 Andrew(,) Simon Peter's brother(,) was (there,) one of the two who heard from John and followed him: 41 this (one) first finds his own brother Simon and says to him, "We have found the Messiah," which is translated Christ: 42 he brought him to Jesus. Looking at him Jesus said, "You are Simon son of John, you will be called Kefas," which is tranlated Peter.

According to John 1: 43-51: The Calling of Philip and Nathanael
43 The next day he wanted to go to Galilee and he finds Philip. And Jesus says to him, "Follow me." 44 And Philip was from Bethsaida, from the citiy of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip finds Nathanael and says to him, "We have found what Moses wrote (about) in the law(,) and the prophets (wrote about), Jesus son of Joseph from Nazaret. 46 And Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come from Nazaret?" [The] Philip says toh im, "Come and see." 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him and says about him, "Behold a true Israelite in whom deceit is not." 48 Nathanael says to him, "From where do you know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you(,) when you were under the fig tree(,) I saw you." 49 Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the son of God, you are the king of Israel." 50 Jesus answered and said to him, "Because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree, you believe? You will see greater (things) than these." 51 And he says to him, "Truly(,) truly I tell you, you will see heaven opening and the messengers of God going up and coming down on the son of man."

According to John 2: 1-12: The Wedding at Cana
1 And on the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and Jesus' mother was there: 2 and Jesus was also called to the wedding(,) and his disciples. 3 And when the wine gave out Jesus' mother says to him, "They don't have wine." 4 [And] Jesus says to her, "What (is that) to me and you, woman? My hour hasn't come yet." 5 His mother says to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." 6 And there were six stone water jars for the cleansing of the Jews lying there, holding about two or three metretas. 7 Jesus tells them, "Fill the water jars with water." And they filled them to the top. 8 And he tells them, "Now draw water and bring (it) to the master of the feast;" and they brought (it). 9 And as the master of the feast tasted the water that became wine and did not know where it came from, and the servants who drew the water knew, the master of the feast calls the bridegroom 10 and says to him, "Every man puts the good wine (in front of his guests) first and the lesser when they are drunk: you kept the good wine until now."
11 Jesus did this commencement of miracles in Cana of Galilee and showed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
12 After this he went down to Capharnaum(,) and his mother and [his] brothers and his disciples and stayed there not many days.

According to John 2: 13-22: The Cleansing of the Temple
13 And the passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 And he found those who sold cows and sheep and doves(,) and the money-changers sitting in the temple, 15 and making a whip of cords he threw all the sheep and cows out of the temple, and spilled the coins of the small money-changers and overturned the tables, 16 and said to the sellers of doves, "Take these away, do not make my father's house a house of commerce."
17 His disciples remembered that it is written, The zeal of your house will devour me. 18 Therefore the Jews answered and said to him, "What sign will you show us because you do these (things)?" 19 Jesus answerd and told them, "Destroy this sanctuary and I will raise it in three days." 20 Therefore the Jews said to him, "This sanctuary was built for forty and six years, and you will raise it in three days?" 21 And that (one) spoke about the temple of his body. 22 Therefore when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the writing and the word that Jesus told them.

23 And it was as (he was) in Jerusalem in the passover in the holiday, many believed in his name seeing his miracles that he did: 24 and Jesus himself did not trust himself to them because all knew him 25 and when he had need that someone witness about the son of man: for he knew what was in man.

According to John 3: 1-21: Jesus and Nicodemus
1 And there was a man of the Pharisees, Nikodemos (was) his name*, a ruler of the Jews: 2 this (one) came to him at night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher sent from God: for no one can do these miracles that you do, unless God is with him." 3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly(,) truly I tell you, if anyone is not born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4 [The] Nicodemos says to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb a second time and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Truly(,) truly I tell you, if anyone is not born of water and the spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 What is born from flesh is flesh, and what is born from spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be amazed that I told you, 'You must be born from above.' 8 The wind blows** where it wants and you hear its voice, but you do not know from where it came and where it goes; this is each who is born of the spirit." 9 Nicodemos answered and said to him, "How can these things be?" 10 Jesus answered and said to him, "You are a teacher of Israel and do not know these (things)? 11 Truly(,) truly I tell you that we say what we know and witness about what we see, and you do not accept our witnessing. 12 If I told you (things) about earth and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you (things) about heaven? 13 And no one has gone up to heaven except he who came down from heaven, the son of man. 14 And just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the son of man must be lifted up, 15 so that each who believes in him may have eternal life.
16 "For thus God loved the world, that he gave his only-born son, so that each who believes in him may not perish but rather have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through him. 18 He who believes in him will not be judged: but he who does not believe in him has been judged now, because he has not believed in the name of the only-born son of God. 19 And this is the judgment(,) that the light was sent into the world and men loved the darkness more than the light; for their deeds were evil. 20 For each who practises evil hates the light and the light does not come to him, lest he be exposed (by) his deeds: 21 but the one who does truth comes to the light, so that he may be illuminated (by) his deeds that he labored on in God."

According to John 3: 22-30: Jesus and John the Baptist
22 After these (things) Jesus went to the Judean land(,) and his disciples(,) and there he stayed with them and baptized. 23 And John was also baptizing in Ainon near Salem, because there was much water there, and they came and were baptized: 24 for not yet was John thrown into prison.
25 Therefore a debate came from John's disciples with the Jews about ritual cleansing. 26 And they went to John and said to him, "Rabbi, he who was with you beside the Jordan, to whom you have witnessed, behold this (one) is baptizing and everyone is coming to him." 27 John answered and said, "A man cannot take even one (thing) unless it is given to him from heaven. 28 [/u]You[/u][/i] witness to me that I said [that] 'I am not the Christ,' but that 'I am sent before that (one).' 29 He who has the wedding is the bridegroom: and the friend of the bridegroom who stands and hears him rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore my joy is fulfilled. 30 That (one) must increase, and I must be diminished.

According to John 3: 31-36: He Who Comes from Heaven
31 "He who comes from aboce is before everyone; he who is of the earth is of the earth and speaks from the earth. He who comes from heaven [is before everyone:] 32 whom we have seen and heard witnesses to this, and no one accepts his testimony. 33 He who accepts his testimony confirmed that God is true. 34 For whom God sent speaks the words of God, for they do not give the spirit from a measure. 35 The father loves the son and has given everything into his hand. 36 He who believes in the son has eternal life: but he who is disobedient to the son will not see life, but rather the wrath of God will remain on him."

According to John 4: 1-42: Jesus and the Woman of Samaria
1 Therefore as Jesus didn't know that the Pharisees heard that Jesus is making many more disciples and baptizing like John 2 -- although Jesus himself was not baptizing, but rather his disciples-- 3 he left Judea and went away again into Galilee. 4 And he had to pass through Samaria. 5 Therefore he comes to a city of Samaria called Suchar near the field Yacob gave [to] his son Yosef: 6 and there was Yacob's spring. Therefore Jesus(,) having grown tired from his journey(,) sat as follows on the spring: it was about the sixth hour.
7 A woman of Samaria comes to draw water. Jesus says to her, "Give me (some) to drink;" 8 for his disciples had been sent into the city in order to buy foodstuffs. 9 Therefore the Samaritan woman says to him, "How(,) you being a Jew(,) do you ask for (something) to drink from a woman who is Samaritan? For Jews do not associate with Samaritans." 10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that says to you, 'Give me (something) to drink,' you would ask him and he would give you living water." 11 [The woman] says to him, "Lord, you have no bucket and the spring is deep: therefore from where do you have living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Yacob, who gave us the well(,) and he drank from it(,) also his sons and his livestock?" 13 Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks from this water will thirst again; 14 but whoever drinks from the water that I will give him(,) there will be a spring of water leaping into eternal life in him." 15 The woman says to him, "Lord, give me this water, so that I will not thirst nor come here to draw (water)."
16 He says to her, "Go bring your husband and come here." 17 The woman answered and said to him, "I don't have a husband." Jesus said to her, "You said well that 'I don't have a husband;' 18 for you had five men and he whom you have now is not your husband*: you have said this truly." 19 The woman says to him, "Lord, I see that you are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain and you** say that in Jerusalem is the place where one must worship." 21 Jesus says to her, "Believe me, woman, that the hour is coming when you will not worship the father on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You worship what you do not know: we worship what we know, because salvation is from the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming and is now (here), when the truthful worshipers will worship the father in spirit and truth: for the father also seeks such who worship him. 24 God (is) spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth." 25 The woman says to him, "I know that Messiah is coming who is called Christ: when that (one) comes, he will announce everything to us." 26 Jesus says to her, "I am he, who is speaking to you."
27 And at this his disciples came and were amazed that he was talking with a woman: indeed no one said, "What do you seek or why are you speaking with her?" 28 Therefore the woman left her water pot and went away into the city and said to the men, 29 "Come see a man who told me everything(,) however much(,) I did, mightn't this be the Christ?" 30 They left the city and came to him.
31 In the meantime the disciples asked him saying, "Rabbi, eat." 32 And he told them, "I have food to eat that you don't know." 22 Therefore the disciples said to each other, "Could someone have brought him (something) to eat?" 34 Jesus says to them, "My food is that I may do the will of him who sent me and finish his work. 35 Don't you say, 'It is now four months and harvest is coming?' Behold I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields that are white for the harvest. Now 36 the harvester recieves a reward and gathers a crop for eternal life, so that the sower might rejoice(,) and unitedly with the harvester. 37 For in this the word is true that 'The sower is another and the harvester is another.' 38 I sent you to harvest what you did not labor (on): others have labored and you came into their labor."
39 And from that city many of the Samaritans believed in him through the word of the woman witnessing that 'He told me everything that I did.' 40 Therefore as the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them: and he stayed there two days. 41 And with much many more believed through his word, 42 and he said to the woman that 'We believed no one through your speech, for they heard and saw that this is truly the savior of the world."
*The Greek word for 'husband' or 'man' is the same throughout **Plural

According to John 4: 43-54: The Healing of the Official's Son
43 And after two days he went out from there to Galilee; 44 for Jesus himself witnessed that a prophet does not have honor in his own homeland. 45 Therefore when he went to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him(,) all who saw how much he did in Jerusalem in the feast, for they also went to the feast.
46 Therefore he wentto Cana of Galilee again, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain royal officer whose son was sickly in Capernaum. 47 This (one) heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee (and) went out to him and asked him that he might come down and heal his son, for he was going to die. 48 Therefore Jesus said to him, "If you do not see miracles and signs, you will certainly not believe." 49 The royal officer says to him, "Lord, come down before my child dies." 50 Jesus says to him, "Go: your son lives." The man believed at the word that Jesus said to him and went. 51 And now his slaves coming down came to meet him saying that the child lives. 52 Therefore he inquired the hour from them in which he was better: therefore they told him that 'Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.' 53 Therefore the father knew that (it was) [in] that hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives,' and he believed(,) and his whole house.
54 [And] Jesus did this second miracle coming from Judea to Galilee.

According to John 5: 1-18: The Healing at the Pool
1 After these (things) it was the feast of the Jews and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 And in Jerusalem at the sheep (gate) is a pool named Bethzatha in Hebrew(,) it has five piazzas. 3 In these sat a multitude of the sick, blind, lame, withered. 5 And a certain man was there thirty [and] eight years having in his weakness: 6 seeing this (one) Jesus sat and knowing that he now has much time, says to him, "Do you want to become healthy?" 7 The weak (man) answered him, "Lord, I don't have a man to put me in the pool when the water is stirred: and when I go, another goes down before me." 8 Jesus says to him, "Get up(,) take your mat and walk." 9 And immediately the man became healthy and took his mat and walked.
And it was the sabbath on that day. 10 Therefore the Jews said to the one who was healed, "It is the sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to carry your mat." 11 And he answered them, "He who made me healthy(,) that (one) said to me, 'Pick up your mat and walk.' " 12 They asked him, "Who is this man who told you, 'Pick (it) up and walk'?" 13 And being healed he did not know who it is, for Jesus had turned aside when the crowd was in the place. 14 After these (things) Jesus finds him in the temple and says to him, "Behold you have become healthy, sin no longer, lest something worse happen to you." 15 The man went away and told the Jews that it is Jesus who made him healthy. 16 And so the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he did these (things) on the sabbath. 17 And [Jesus] answered them, "My father worked up to now and I work:" 18 so therefore the Jews tried to kill him more, because he didn't only break the sabbath, but also called God his own father, making himself God.

According to John 5: 19-30: The Authority of the Son
19 Therefore Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly(,) truly I tell you, the son cannot make anything from himself uncless someone sees his father making (something): for whatever that (one) does, the son does these (things) likewise. 20 For the father loves the son and shows him everything that he does, and will show him greater works than these, so that you may be amazed. 21 For just as the father raises the dead and makes (them) alive, so also the son wants to make them alive. 22 For the father doesn't judge anyone, but rather all judgment has been given to the son, 23 so that all might honor the son just as they honor the father. He who does not honor the son does not honor the father who sent him.
24 Truly(,) truly I tell you that he who hears my word and believe him who sent me has eternal life and will not enter judgment, but turn* from death to life. 25 Truly(,) truly I tell you that the hour is coming and is now here when the dead hear the voice of the son of God and those who hear live. 26 For just as the father has life in himself, so he also gave (him) life to have in himself. 27 And he gave him authority to do judgment, because he is the son of man. 28 Do not be amazed at this, because the hour is coming in which everyone in tombs will hear his voice 29 and those who did good (things) enter the resurrection of life, but those who practived evil into the resurrection of judgment.
30 I cannot do anything from myself: just as I hear I judge, and my judgment is righteous, becaue I do not seek my desire but rather the desire of him who sent me.
