According to Luke 18: 18-30: The Rich Ruler
18 And a certain (one) of the rulers asked him saying, "Good teacher, what will I do to inherit eternal life?" 19 And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one (is) good except the one God. 20 You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother." 21 But he said, "I have kept all these from youth." 22 And hearing Jesus said, "Still you lack in one (thing): sell everything(,) however much you have and pass (it) on to the poor, and you will have treasure in [the] heavens, and come follow me." 23 But hearing these (things) he became very sad: for he was extremely rich.
24 And seeing him [becoming sad] Jesus said, "How hard (for) those having extra (things) to enter the kingdom of God: 25 for it is easier (for) a camel to enter through a needle's eye than a rich man to enter God's kindom."
26 And the hearers said, "And who can be saved?" 27 And he said, "What (is) impossible for men is possible for God."
28 And Peter said, "Behold we left our own (and) followed you." 29 And he said to them, "Truly I tell you that there is no one who left house our wife or brothers or relatives or children for the sake of God's kingdom, 30 who will not receive (them) [back] in this season and eternal life in the coming age."

According to Luke 18: 31-34: A Third Time Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection
31 And taking the twelve along he said to them, "Behold we are going up to Jerusalem, and all that is written through the prophets for the son of man will be fulfilled: 32 for he will be betrayed to the gentiles and suffer and be insulted and spat on 33 and they will whip (and) kill him, but also on the third day he will rise." 34 And they understood none of these (things,) and this word was hidden from them(,) and they did not know the sayings.

35 And it happened when he approached Jericho that (there was) a blind (man) who sat by the road begging. 36 And hearing the crowd going through he inquired what this might be. 37 And they announced to him that 'Jesus the Nazarene was passing by.' 38 And he shouted saying, "Jesus son of David, have mercy on me." 39 And those going before rebuked him so that he might be silent, but he cried out much more, "Son of David, have mercy on me." 40 And turning Jesus ordered him to be led to him. And when he approached he asked him, 41 "What do you want me to do for you?" And he said, "Lord, that I may see again." 42 And Jesus said to him, "Regain your sight: your trust has saved you." 43 And at once he regained his sight and followed him praising God. And all the nation seeing gave praise to God.

According to Luke 19: 1-10: Jesus and Zaccheus
1 And he went into and passed through Jericho. 2 And behold a man called by the name Zechariah, and he (was) rich: 3 and he sought to see Jesus who is (there) and could not from the crowd, because he was small in growth. 4 And running ahead he went up in a sycamore tree so that he might see him because that (one) was going to pass through. 5 And as he came to the place, looking around Jesus said to him, "Zechariah, hurry (and) come down, for today I must stay in your house." 6 And hurrying he came down and welcomed him rejoicing. 7 And seeing everyone startled saying that 'With a sinner* he entered to stay.' 8 But turning Zechariah said to the lord, "Behold half of my possessions, lord, I give to the poor, and if (there is) anyone whom I cheated I repay fourfold." 9 And Jesus siad to him that 'Today salvation is in this house, in the manner (that) he (is) also a son of Abraham: 10 for the son of man came to seek and save the sinner."

According to Luke 19: 11-27: The Parable of the Ten Pounds
11 And when they heard these (things) he added (to what he had said and) told a parable because he was near Jerusalem itself and taught that the kingdom of God is going to appear at once. 12 Therefore he said, "A certain nobly-born man went to a far country, to take to himself a kingdom and return. 13 And calling twelve of his own slaves he gave them ten minas and said to them, 'Do business with it until I come.' 14 But his fellow citizens hated him and sent a representative after him saying, 'We do not want this to reign over us.'
15 And it happened when he came on him taking the kingdom and said to him to summon these slaves to whom he gave the money, so that he might know what they earned. 16 And the first came to him saying, 'Lord, your ten minas made ten more minas.' 17 And he said to him, 'Well (done), good slave, because you were faithful in a small (thing), you will be having power over ten cities.' 18 And the second came saying, 'Your mina, master, made five minas.' 19 And he said to this, 'And you be over five cities.' 20 And the other came saying, 'Master, behold your mina which I had hidden in a handkerchief: 21 for I feared you, because you are a hard man, taking what you did not place and harvesting what you did not sow.' 22 He says to him, 'Out of your mouth I condemn you, evil slave. Did you know that I am a hard man, taking what I did not place and harvesting what I did not sow? 23 And therefore why didn't you give my money to the bank? And I coming (would have found it) with the interest it produced.' 24 And to those standing by he said, 'Take the mina from him and give it to him who has ten minas' 25 --and they said to him, 'Master, he has ten minas'--26 I tell you that it will be given to all who have, but from him who does not have even what he has will be taken. 27 'Yet bring to me here these enemies who do not want me to rule over them and slay them before me.' According to Luke 19: 28-44: The Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem
28 And saying these things he walked before going up to Jerusalem. 29 And it happened as he approached Bethphage and Bethania[n] near the road called Of Olives, he sent two of the disciples 30 saying, "Go into the village opposite, in which entering you will find a colt tied up, on whom nobody of men ever sat, and untying it bring (it). 31 And if anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying (it)?' say thus(,) that 'Its master has need.' " 32 And going away the disciples found (it) just as he told them. 33 And when they untied the colt its masters said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?" 34 and they said that 'Its master has need.' 35 And they led it to Jesus and throwing their cloaks on the colt they put Jesus on (it). 36 And when it walked they spread out their cloaks in the road.
37 And when he approached now to the ascent of the Road of Olives the whole multitude of disciples began(,) rejoicing(,) to praise God with a great voice about all the miracles they saw, 38 saying, "Blessed (is) he who comes,
the king in the name of the lord: in heaven peace and praise in the highest (places)."
39 And some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." 40 And answering he said, "I tell you, if these are silent, the rocks will cry out."
41 And as he approached seeing the city he wept over it 42 saying that 'If you knew in this day (that) you (are) also near peace: but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 Because days will come on you and your enemies will set up barricades for you and surround you and rule you entirely, 44 and raze you to the ground and your children in you, and will not leave a stone on a stone in you, because you did not know the season of your visitation."

And my house will be a house of prayer, but you made it a den of robbers."
47 And he was teaching each day in the temple. And the chief priests and the scribes and the first (men) of the nation sought to kill him, 48 and did not find what they might do, for all the people hung on him listening.

According to Luke 20: 1-8: The Authority of Jesus Questioned
1 And it happened in one of the days when he taught the nation in the temple and preached the good news that the chief priests and scribes with the elders came on (him) 2 and spoke saying to him, "Tell us by what authority you do these (things), or who is he who gave you this authority?" 3 And answering he said to them, "I will also ask you a matter, and tell me: 4 Was the baptism of John from heaven or from men?" 5 And they discussed in themselves saying that 'If we say, 'From heaven,' he will say, 'Therefore why didn't you believe him?' 6 But if we say, 'From men,' all the nation will stone us, for they have been persuaded that John is a prophet.' 7 And they answered that they didn't know from where. 8 And Jesus said to them, "Nor do I tell you by what authority I do these (things)."

According to Luke 20: 9-19: The Parable of the Vineyard and the Tenants
9 And he began to tell the nation this parable: "A [certain] man planted a vineyard and rented it to farmers and went away for fitting times. 10 And in the season he sent a slave to the farmers so that they might give him (some) from the fruit of the vineyard: but the farmers sent him away emptyhanded (and) beat (him). 11 And he proceeded to send another slave: but beating and degrading (him) they sent (him) away emptyhanded. 13 And the master of the vineyard said, 'What will I do? I will send my beloved son: seeing this they will be shamed.' 14 But seeing him the farmers urged each other saying, 'This is the heir: let us kill him, so that the inheritance may become ours.' 15 And throwing him out of the vineyard they killed (him). Therefore what will the master of the vineyard do? 16 He will come and destroy these farmers and give the vineyard to others." And hearing they said, "God forbid*." 17 But looking around at them he said, "So isn't this written:
The stone that the builders rejected, this has become the keystone?
18 Each who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces: but on whom it falls, it will crush him." 19 And the scribes and chief priests sought to lay hands on him in this hour, and feared the nation, for they knew that he told the parable to them.
*This is actually the verb 'be, happen' in the optative mood, which expresses a strong wish.

According to Luke 20: 20-26: Paying Taxes to Caesar
20 And watching closely they sent spies obeying themselves obeying themselves (to pretend) to be righteous, so that they might catch his word, in order to betray him to the chief and the power of the governor. 21 And they asked him saying, "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach correctly and do not take face, but teach the way of God in truth: 22 is it lawful for us to give tax to Caesar or not?" 23 But observing their trickery he said to them, 24 "Show me a denarius: whose image and inscription does it have?" And they said, "Caesar's." 25 And he said to them, "Then pay Caesar what (is) Caesar's and God what (is) God's." 26 And they could not attack his word before the nation and being amazed at his answer were silent.

According to Luke 20: 27-40: The Question about the Resurrection
27 And some of the Sadducees, who say [contrarily] that there is no resurrection, approached (and) asked him 28 saying, "Teacher, Moses wrote to us, if some brother who has a wife dies, and this (one) was childless, so that his brother takes the wife and sprouts seed for his brother. 29 So there were seven brotherse: and the first took a wife (and) died childless: 30 and the second 31 and the third took her, and likewise all seven did not leave behind children and died. 32 Last the woman also died. 33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife will she be? For the seven had the same wife." 34 And Jesus said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are married, 35 but those brought up from the dead do not marry nor are married: 36 for they cannot still die, for they are equal and are sons of God beings sons of the resurrection. 37 But because the dead are raised, and Moses was taken from the tomb, as he says, 'The lord (is) the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Yacob.' 38 But he is not God of the dead but of the living, for all live to him." 39 And answering some of the scribes said, "Teacher, you speak well." 40 For no one undertook to ask him anything.
