Acts of the Emissaries 6: 8-15: The Arrest of Stephen
8 And Stephan, full of grace and power, did great signs and wonders in the nation. 9 And some of those from the synagogue called Of the Freedmen and from Cyrene and Alexandria and from Cilicia and Asia got up looking for Stephan, 10 and they weren’t able to stand against the wisdom and the spirit in which he spoke. 11 Then they bribed men who said that ‘We have heard him say blasphemous words against Moses and God:’ 12 and they stirred up the nation and the elders and the scribes, and believing it they caught him and brought him to the sanhedrin, 13 and false witnesses stood saying, “This man doesn’t stop saying words against [this] holy place and the law: 14 for we have heard him saying that this Yeshua, the Nazarene, will destroy this place and transform the customs that Moses gave us." 15 And staring at him all those sitting in the sanhedrin saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

Acts of the Emissaries 7: 1-53: Stephen’s Speech
1 And the high priest said, “If he has these things thus?” 2 But he said, “Men, brothers and fathers, listen. God, of his glory, spoke to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia before he settled in Haran 3 and said to him, ‘Go out of your land and [from] your relatives, and go into the land that I will show you.’ 4 Then leaving the land of the Chaldaians he settled in Haran. And there, after the death of his father, he brought him into this land in which you now live, 5 and he didn’t give him an inheritance in it nor a place for his foot and promised to give it to him and to his seed with him as a possession, when he had no child. 6 And God spoke thus, that his seed will be a stranger in another’s land and they will enslave it and oppress it for four hundred years 7 and I will judge the nation to which they will be enslaved, God said, and after these things they will go out and worship me in this place. 8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and thus Isaac was born and he circumcised him on the eighth day, and Isaac circumcised Jacob, and Jacob the twelve patriarchs.
9 “And the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph and sold him to Egypt. And God was with him 10 and lifted him out of all his troubles and gave him grace and wisdom before Pharaoh king of Egypt and put him in charge as governor over Egypt and [over] his whole house. 11 And a famine and great trouble came on all Egypt and Canaan, and our fathers didn’t find foodstuffs. 12 And when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt he sent our fathers out first, 13 and the second time Joseph recognized his brothers and made the family [of] Joseph appear to Pharaoh. 14 And Joseph sent and summoned his father Jacob and all his family, seventy-five souls. 15 And Jacob went down to Egypt and he and our fathers died, 16 and he was brought back to Sumech and put in the tomb that Abraham bought with a price of silver for the sons of Hemmor in Sumech.
17 “And just as the time of the promise that God made to Abraham approached, a nation rose up and multiplied in Egypt 18 until when another king ascended [in Egypt] who didn’t know Joseph. 19 This one, taking advantage of our family by trickery, did evil to [our] fathers to make them expose their children so that they might not stay alive. 20 In that season Moses was born and was pleasing to God: who raised him in his father’s house for three months, 21 and when he was exposed Pharaoh’s daughter adopted him and reared him herself, as a son. 22 And Moses was raised [in] all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was powerful in his words and deeds.
23 “And as the time of his fortieth year was fulfilled to him, it rose up in his heart to be concerned about his brothers, the sons of Israel. 24 And seeing a certain man hurting [an Israelite] he came to help and did punishment to the one mistreating [the Israelite], striking the Egyptian. 25 And he planned to be with [his] brothers because God, through his hand, was giving them salvation: but they didn’t understand. 26 And the next day he saw them fighting and spoke to them in peace saying, “Men, you are brothers: why are you wronging each other?” 27 And the one wronging his neighbor pushed him back saying, “Who appointed you ruler and judge over us? 28 Do you want to kill me in the same way as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?” 29 And Moses fled at this word and made a stay in Midian, where he had two sons.
30 “And when forty years were filled an angel was heard by him in the flame of a burning bush in the desert of mount Sinai. 31 And seeing what he saw he was amazed, and he approached to look at it and the voice of the lord came, 32 ‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.’ And Moses was trembling, not daring to look. 33 And the lord said to him, ‘Take the sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground. 34 Look, I announced the ill-treatment of my people in Egypt, and I heard their groaning, and I came down to bring them out: and now come, I will send you to Egypt.’
35 “This Moses, whom they denied saying, ‘Who appointed you ruler and judge?’, God sent this one as ruler and [also] liberator with the hand of an angel seen by him in the bush. 36 This one led them out doing miracles and signs in the land of Egypt and the Red Sea and in the desert for forty years. 37 This is the Moses who told the sons of Israel, ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers.’ 38 This is the one who was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him on mount Sinai and (with) our fathers, who received living words to give them to us, 39 to whom our fathers didn’t want to be obedient, but rather rejected him and turned to Egypt in their hearts 40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods who will go before us: for this Moses, who led us you of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what happened to him.’ 41 And they made a calf in those days and brought a sacrifice to the idol and celebrated in the works of their hands. 42 And God turned and handed them over to worship the stars of heaven just as it is written in the book of the prophets,
You didn’t bring me victims and offerings for forty years in the wilderness, house of Israel: 43 and you carried the tent of Moloch and the star of [your] god Hraifan, the images that you made in order to worship them, and I will make you move beyond Babylon.
44 “The tent of witness was with our fathers in the wilderness just as the one who told Moses to make it according to the plan that he saw ordered: 45 it also our fathers brought in when they received possession with Yeshua in the dispossession of the nations, whom God put away from the face of our fathers until the days of David, 46 who found grace before God and prepared to find a dwelling place for the house of Jacob. 47 And Solomon built the house for him. 48 But the most high doesn’t live in houses made by hands, just as the prophet says,
49 Heaven is my throne, and the earth is the stool for my feet: what kind of house will you build for me, says the lord, or what place of rest for me? 50 Didn’t my hand make all these things?
51 “Stubborn and uncircumcised in hearts and ears, you constantly fight against the holy spirit, as your fathers were, you are as well. 52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced about the the coming of righteousness, of which now you are traitors and murderers, 53 certain of you received the law handed down by angels and didn't obey it."

Acts of the Emissaries 7: 54-8: 1a: The Stoning of Stephen
54 And hearing these things they were furious in their hearts and ground their teeth at him. 55 And being full of the holy spirit looking up into heaven he saw the God’s glory and Yeshua standing at God’s right 56 and said, “Look, I see the heavens opening and the son of man standing at God’s right.” 57 And shouting in a loud voice they stopped their ears and rushed at him as one 58 and throwing him out of the city they stoned him. And the witnesses left their cloaks at the feet of a young man called Saul, 59 and stoned Stephan who was calling and saying, “Lord Yeshua, receive my spirit.” 60 And putting down his knees he cried out in a loud voice, "Lord, don't let this sin stand against them." And saying this he fell asleep. 1 And Saul was approving of his murder.

Acts of the Emissaries 8: 1b-3: Saul Persecutes the Church
And in that day a great persecution came against the church in the Jerusalem area, and many scattered to the regions of Judea and Samaria, the fulness of the emissaries. 2 And men carried Stephan away reverently and made a great weeping over him. 3 And Saul harassed the church, going into their homes, and dragging men and women away to hand them over to prison.

Acts of the Emissaries 8: 4-25: The Gospel Preached in Samaria
4 Therefore indeed they scattered and went away announcing the good news of the word. 5 And Philip, going down to [the] city of Samaria preached the Messiah to them. 6 And the crowds held to the sayings of Philip with one accord when they heard and saw the signs that he did. 7 For many of the unclean spirits, shouting in a loud voice, went out, and many paralyzed and lame people were healed: 8 and there was much joy in that city.
9 And a certain man with the name Simon used to live in the city practicing magic and amazing the nation of Samaria, calling himself someone great, 10 to whom everyone held, from small to great, saying, “This is the power called the Great from God.” 11 And through that time they held to him being amazed by his magics. 12 And when they believed Philip, who was announcing the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Yeshua the Messiah, both men and women were baptized. 13 But Simon, he also believed and being baptized devoted himself to Philip, and seeing the signs and great wonders being done he was amazed.
14 And when the emissaries in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted God’s word, they sent Peter and John to them, 15 who, when they went down, prayed about them that they might receive the holy spirit 16 for it had not yet fallen on any of them, and they had only been baptized in the name of the lord Yeshua. 17 Then they laid their hands on them and they received the holy spirit. 18 And when Simon saw that through the emissaries’ laying of hands the spirit is given, he brought them gifts 19 saying, “Give me this authority as well so that whoever I lay my hands on might receive the holy spirit. 20 And Peter said to him, “May your silver be as destruction because you thought to acquire the gift of God through gifts: 21 you don’t have a part nor an inheritance in this word, for your heart isn’t upright before God. 22 Therefore turn away from this evil of yours and pray to the lord, so that the intent of your heart will be destroyed, 23 for I see that you are bitter with gall and a bundle of unrighteousness." 24 And answering Simon said, "You pray for me to the lord so that what you said won't fall on me."
25 Therefore indeed they solemnly declared and spoke the word of the lord and turned back to Jerusalem, and they preached the good news to many villages of the Samarians.

Acts of the Emissaries 8: 26-40: Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch
26 And an angel of the lord spoke to Philip saying, “Get up and go southward on the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza,” this is desert. 27 And getting up he went. And look, a man, an Ethiopian eunuch, from the ruler Kandake, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over her whole treasury, who had come worshiping in Jerusalem, 28 and he was returning and sitting in his chariot and reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the spirit said to Philip, “Approach and hold onto this chariot.” 30 And Philip ran and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah and said, “So do you know what you’re reading?” 31 And he said, “For how can I understand unless someone shows me? And he asked Philip to climb up and sit with him. 32 And the passage of the writing that he was reading was this:
As a sheep to the slaughter he was brought and as a lamb before its shearer he was silent, thus he didn’t open his mouth. 33 In [his] humiliation his judgment was raised: who will describe his generation? For his life is raised from the earth.
34 And answering the eunuch said to Philip, “Describe to me, who is the prophet saying this about? About himself or about some other?” 35 And Philip opened his mouth and starting from this writing he announced the good news of Yeshua to him. 36 And as they went on the road, they came on some water, and the eunuch said, “Look, water, what prevents me being baptized?” 38 And he ordered the chariot to stop and both of them went down to the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 And when he came up from the water, the spirit of the lord snatched Philip and the eunuch didn't see him any more, for he continued on his way rejoicing. 40 And Philip was found in Ashdod: and passing through he announced the good news in all the cities until he came to Caesarea.

Acts of the Emissaries 9: 1-19a: The Conversion of Saul
1 And Saul was still breathing out threats and murder against the lord’s disciples, and going to the chief priest 2 he asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that he might find those on their way there, both men and women, and bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 And when he left it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a voice flashed around him from heaven 4 and falling on the ground he heard the voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” 5 And he said, “Who are you, lord?” And he, “I am Yeshua, whom you are persecuting: 6 but get up and go into the city and someone will speak to you who will tell you what you must do.” 7 And the men who were with him stood speechless, hearing indeed no voice but seeing [the flash of light]. 8 And Saul got up from the ground, and when he opened his eyes he saw nothing: and leading him by the hand they entered Damascus. 9 And he was three days without seeing and he didn’t eat or drink.
10 And there was a certain disciple named Hananias in Damascus, and he said to him in the name of the lord, “Hanania.” And he said, “Look, I’m here, lord.” 11 And the lord to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight and in the house of Judah look for Saul, called the one from Tarsus:” for look, he was praying 12 and he saw a man [by the name of] named Hananias entering and laying [his] hands (on him) so that he might see again. 13 And Hananias answered, “Lord, I heard from many people about this man, he did so many evil things to your holy ones in Jerusalem: 14 and here he has authority from the chief priests to tie up all those who call on your name.” 15 And the lord said to him, “Go, because this is my chosen instrument to support my name before nations and kings and sons of Israel: 16 for I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
17 And Hananias went and entered the house and laying his hands on him said, "Brother Saul, the lord, Yeshua, whom you saw on the road as you came, has sent me, so that you might see again and might be filled with the holy spirit." 18 And immediately things like scales fell from his eyes, and he saw again and got up and was baptized 19 and taking food he was strengthened.

Acts of the Emissaries 9: 19b-22: Saul Preaches at Damascus
19 And he was with those in Damascus for some days 20 and immediately he preached Yeshua in the synagogues, that this is God's son. 21 And all those who heard were amazed and said, " Isn't this the one who was destroying those in Jerusalem who call on this name, and came here for this, so that he might lead them tied up to the chief priests?" 22 And Saul was strengthened even more and confounded [the] Jews who lived in Damascus instructing that this is the Messiah.

23 And as many days were fulfilled, the Jews plotted to kill him: 24 and their plot was known by Saul. And they watched the gates both day and night so that they might kill him: 25 and by night his disciples took him and let him down from the walls, lowering him in a basket.

Acts of the Emissaries 9: 26-31: Saul at Jerusalem
26 And when he went to Jerusalem he tried to join the disciples, and everyone was afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. 27 And Barnabas took him and brought him to the emissaries and he proclaimed to them how he saw the lord in the road and that he had spoken to him and how he had spoken boldly in Damascus about the name of Yeshua. 28 And the one entering and leaving Jerusalem was with him, speaking boldly in the name of the lord, 29 and he spoke and discussed with the Greek Jews, and they tried to kill him. 30 And the brothers knew in advance and took him to Caesarea and sent him on to Tarsus.
31 Therefore indeed the community had peace from the whole of Judea and Galilee and Samaria, building its house and proceeding it was filled with the fear of the lord and the comfort of the holy spirit.

Acts of the Emissaries 9: 36-43: Dorcas Restored to Life
36 In Joppa there was a certain female disciple named Tabitha, which being translated is said Dorcas (Gazelle): this one was full of good and merciful deeds that she did. 37 And it happened in those days that she was sick enough to die: and washing [her] they put her in an upstairs room. 38 And since Ludda was near Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was in it and sent two men to him calling, “Don’t delay coming to us.” 39 And Peter got up and went with them: arriving they led him to the upper room and the women who were weeping and showing many of the tunics and cloaks that Dorcas had made when she was with them stood near him. 40 And Peter threw all of them out and put his knees down and prayed and turned to the body and said, “Tabitha, get up.” And she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. 41 And giving her his hand he got her up: and when the holy ones and the widows were called they stood near her alive. 42 And it was known in all of Joppa and many trusted in the lord.
43 And it happened that he stayed some days in Joppa with a certain Simon, a tanner.

Acts of the Emissaries 10: 1-33: Peter and Cornelius
1 And in Caesarea there was a certain man by the name of Cornelius, centurion of the cohort called Italian, 2 religious and fearing God, with all his house, doing many merciful deeds to the nation and praying to God through everything, 3 he saw, in a vision that appeared at about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming towards him and saying, “Cornelius.” 4 And he gazed at him and becoming fearful said, “What is it, lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your acts of mercy have risen before God as a memorial. 5 And now send men to Joppa and summon a certain Simon who is called Peter: 6 this man is staying as a foreigner with Simon the tanner, who has a house near the sea.” 7 And as the angel who spoke to him went away, he called two of his household servants and a soldier and in a godly manner sent him to find him 8 and going out he sent all of them to Joppa.
9 And the next day, as those ones were making their way and approaching the city, Peter went up to the roof to pray about the eighth hour. 10 And he was hungry and wanted to taste something. And as they were overshadowed ecstasy came on him 11 and he sees heaven opening and a certain object like a great cloth with four corners being lowered onto the earth, 12 in which were all the four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth and birds of heaven. 13 And a voice came to him, “Get up, Peter, kill and eat.” 14 And Peter said, “No way, lord, because I’ve never eaten common and unclean food at all.” 15 And again the voice came to him a second time, “What God has made clean, don’t you call it common.” 16 And this happened three times and immediately the thing was taken back into heaven.
17 And as Peter wondered in himself what the vision that he saw might be, behold the men sent by Cornelius asking for the house of Simon came up to the doorway 18 and calling out questioned whether Simon called Peter was staying inside as a guest. 19 And as Peter was trying to understand about the vision the spirit said [to him], “Look, three men are seeking you, 20 but get up, go down and go with them without doubting at all because I have sent them.” 21 And Peter went down to the men and said, “Look, I am the one you’re looking for: what is the reason that you’re here?” 22 And they said, “Cornelius, the centurion, a man who is righteous and fearing God, and witnessed by all the nations of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to summon you to his house and hear words from you.” 23 Therefore he invited them in and they stayed as guests.
And the next day he got up and went with them and some of the brothers from Joppa came with him. 24 And the next day they entered Caesarea. And Cornelius was watching for them and summoning his neighbors and close friends. 25 And as Peter’s entrance happened, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet and worshiped. 26 But getting him up Peter said, “Get up: I myself am also a man.” 27 And talking with him he entered and found many of those who had been brought, 28 and said to them, “You understand that it is forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or come to a foreigner: and God showed me never to call a man common or unclean: 29 and therefore I came without hesitation when I was summoned. Therefore may I ask for what reason you have summoned me?” 30 And Cornelius said, “Four days ago at this hour, the ninth, I was praying in my house, and look, a man was before me in radiant clothing 31 and he said, "Cornelius, I've heard your prayer and your acts of mercy are remembered before God. 32 Therefore send to Joppa and summon Simon who is called Peter, this man is staying as a guest in the house of Simon, a tanner near the sea." 33 Therefore I sent to you immediately, and you did well to come. Therefore now we are all here before God to hear all the things that you have been commanded by the lord."

Acts of the Emissaries 10: 34-43: Peter Speaks in Cornelius’ House
34 And opening his mouth Peter said, “Truly I know that God is not one who shows favoritism, 35 but rather in every nation he who fears him and does righteousness is right before him. 36 The word [that] he sent to the sons of Israel is announcing the good news of peace through Yeshua the Messiah, who is everyone’s lord, 37 you know the thing that happened throughout all of Judea, beginning in Galilee with the baptism that John preached, 38 Yeshua from Nazareth, as God anointed him with the holy spirit and power, who came doing good deeds and healing all those oppressed by the devil, because God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all the things that he did both in the region of Judea and [in] Jerusalem. And they killed him, hanging him on a tree, 40 (but) God raised this one [on] the third day and gave him to be seen, 41 not to the whole nation, but to witnesses chosen by God in advance, to us, who ate with him and drank with after his resurrection from the dead: 42 and he ordered us to preach to the nation and to testify that this is the one designated by God as the judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets bore witness to him that through his name he takes the sins of all who trust in him."

Acts of the Emissaries 10: 44-48: Gentiles Receive the Holy Spirit
44 While Peter was saying these words the holy spirit fell on all those who heard the message. 45 And the faithful ones of the circumcision were amazed (and) many came to Peter, because the gift of the spirit had been poured out on the nations as well: 46 for they heard them speaking in tongues and honoring God. Then Peter answered, 47 "Can anyone stop these people from being baptized in water, these who received the holy spirit just like us?" 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Yeshua the Messiah. And they asked him to stay some days with them.
