Rut 1: 1-2
1 And it was in the days when the judges judged and there was a famine in the land and a man went from Beit Lechem of Y'hudah to stay in the field of Moav, he and his wife and his two sons. 2 And the man's name was Elimelech and his wife's name was Na'ami and his two sons' names were Machlon and Khilyon, Efrati from Beit Lechem of Y'hudah, and they went to the field of Moav and lived there.

3 And Elimelech, Na'ami's husband, died, and she was left over, she and her two sons. 4 And they took Mo'avi wives; the name of one was Arpah and the name of the second was Rut. And they stayed there for ten years.

5 And the two of them, Machlon and Khilyon, also died, and the woman was left without her two children and without her husband. 6 And she got up with her daughters-in-law and returned from the field of Moav for in the field of Moav she heard that God visited his people to give them food.

Why do you call me Na'ami and YHVH humiliated me and Shaddai did evil to me?" 22 And Na'ami, and with her her daughter-in-law Rut the Moavi, returned, returning from the field of Moav, and they went to Beit Lechem in the beginning of the harvest of barley.

1 And to Na'ami a strong and worthy man from Elimelech's clan was known and his name was Boaz. 2 And Rut the Moavi said, "Let me go to the field and gather among the ears of grain after him in whose eyes I find favor." And she said, "Go, my daughter."

3 And she went and arrived and gathered in the field after the harvesters and it happened that she came to the plot of land belonging to Boaz, who was from Elimelech's clan. 4 And look, Boaz left Beit Lechem and said to the harvesters, "YHVH be with you." And they said to him, "YHVH bless you."

And she went and stayed from the morning until right now; her return to the house was short." 8 And Boaz said to Rut, "Didn't you hear, my daughter? Don't go to gather in another person's field and also don't slip away from this one and thus you will join my young women.
